character animation study
Designing and animating figures is technically very demanding and requires a good understanding of the rigging process. Here I have worked intensively with the rigging tool DUIK BASSEL.2 on three examples:
- forming a riggable character from a few letters
- walking simple figures and interacting with DUIK's walk cycle automation
- sensitively animating the upper body and facial expressions of a complex character.
work process
Letter character
A character quickly developed with a few elements and simply animated.
Walk cycle figuers
This type of semi-automated animation is often used in social media. It looks easy but needs knowledge of how to "trick" the walk cycle automation.
Complex character
This character is constructed entirely in Photoshop and consists of nearly 80 individual parts. All parts are controlled by sliders of the animation layer. The construction of this setting and various masking works is complex, but finally it makes the animation wonderfully easy.
